Bub, William F. DELMAR William F. Bub, 89, of Delmar passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2014. He was greatly loved by his family and friends. He was born in Queens on March 26, 1924. During World War II, he served in the Army and just before shipping out to the Pacific, he married the love of his life, the late, Lois S. LeGallez of Slingerlands. He took over the family electrical business, LeGallez Electric, where he worked for over 50 years. The family electrical business was started in 1914 so he lived long enough to see the 100th anniversary, something he was greatly anticipating. He loved to play the drums when he was young and once he had a family, he got his five sons to join the Village Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps of Delmar, so he could join with them. He drummed in countless parades and musters. He was also one of those Revolutionary War "re-enactors." He helped form the Continental Marines, a charter group within the Brigade of the American Revolution. He donned his Continental Marine uniform and carried his musket for his final reenactment, last year at the age of 88. The family would like to thank the staff at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center for the tremendous care they provided him over many years. He will be incredibly missed by his family of five boys, their wives, and his 13 grandchildren. He leaves behind William C. and Nancy Bub (Jennifer), Dennis and Tami Bub (Heather and Theresa), John and Nanette Bub (Kevin and Nathan), Stephen and Maureen Bub (Julianne, Christopher, Michelle, Matthew, and Stephanie), and David and Dawn Bub (Ashley, Andrew, and Corey). A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Community Church, 201 Elm Ave. Delmar. The family requests that he be remembered with donations to the charitable organization, "Honor Flight" which provided him his last big trip, as they honored him and other World War II vets with a trip to the World War II memorial in Washington D.C. leatherstockinghonorflight.org/donate.html
