Esposito, Richard P. HALFMOON Richard P. Esposito, 66, of Summit Trail, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on June 19, 1947 in Niskayuna and was the son of the late Philip and Carmela (Nigro) Esposito. Richard was a proud United States Air Force Vietnam War Veteran who was honorably discharged as a sergeant on February 28, 1969. He had lived in Halfmoon for the past four years and was previously of Schenectady. He worked as an information technology systems specialist at the Albany Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center Hospital for many years until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Esposito enjoyed golfing at Haig Point in South Carolina and in league play with fellow retirees at the Capital Hills Golf Club in Albany. He looked forward to his annual hunting week with his brother, brother-in-law and friends at Adirondack Lake where competitive cooking was the main objective. Richard's favorite pastimes included driving his Corvette, traveling with his family, and sharing his love of music and sports with his grandsons. He was the beloved husband of Carol Dupre Esposito; devoted father of Vicki (David) Brignati of Halfmoon and Kristen (Eric) Poulin of Charlton, N.Y.; cherished grandfather of Alexander and Owen Brignati; brother of Gary (Karen) Esposito of Guilderland; son-in-law of the late Albert and Helen Dupre; brother-in-law of Denise (Pete) Taylor of Duanesburg, Claire Johnson of Scotia and the late Albert Dupre; loving uncle of Nicholas and Justin Esposito, Lisa Isabella, Peter Taylor, Paula Fowler, Shari Conroy and Andrea Johnson. He is also survived by several cousins and great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9 at Ushers Road, Round Lake, NY 12151. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Clark on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9 at Ushers, Round Lake. Interment with full military honors will immediately follow the Mass in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
