Diane Brunelle Obituary

Brunelle, Diane M. MENANDS Diane M. Brunelle, 68, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends following a brief illness. Born in Albany on January 4, 1950, she was the daughter of the late J. Leonard Brunelle and Anne Dennin Brunelle. A lifelong resident of Menands, she was educated in Albany at Holy Names Academy and was a graduate of the class of 1968. Diane enjoyed a career in state government service working for the CSEA Political Action Center from which she retired. Upon her retirement from the state, Diane became a full-time volunteer with the Menands Fire Company No. 1 Inc. in 2006, beginning as an active firefighter and then as a lieutenant with the Fire Police. She was a past secretary of the fire company, and was also active with the Menands Fire Auxiliary, serving as treasurer. She was also a former Menands Police dispatcher. She was a person of faith and was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Menands. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader but her greatest joy in her life was her fire company family, and she was dearly devoted to them. Diane is survived by her sisters, Linda Brunelle of Menands, and Corinne "Connie" Brunelle of the Town of Pittstown; she was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Charles L. Brunelle. She is also survived by her adopted family, Kirk and Theresa Montanye and Ben and Lynn Lattanzio. Funeral services to celebrate Diane's life will be held on Saturday, December 8, at 11 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet with Reverend John F. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at the funeral home on Saturday prior to service from 9:30-11 a.m. As a tribute to her memory, contributions would be appreciated to the Menands Fire Company No 1. Inc, 250 Broadway, Menands, NY, 12204 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142. To offer condolences online, go to ParkerBrosMemorial.com.

So sorry for the family's loss. There are no words sufficient to describe the pain you are feeling. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. May your treasured memories and the drawing close to God in prayer help comfort you in your time of sorrow. (Psalms 66:19,20)
