Koba, Alice Kay HILLSDALE, N.J. Alice Kay Koba, 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2018, in Hillsdale. Alice was born in Dawson, Neb. She met her late husband George Koba at the U.S. Air Force Base in Lincoln, Neb. and later settled in Cohoes, where she spent much of her life. There, she was a dedicated mother to her three children, a payroll clerk for the New York State Department of Higher Education, and an active member of St. Ambrose Church. Alice and George loved to travel and spend time with friends and family; especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After George passed away in 2003, Alice continued to travel and found new interests. She spent her free time enjoying water aerobics at the Cohoes Community Center and going on adventures with the Red Hat Society. Alice lived out the final years of her life at Dowling Gardens in Sparkill, N.Y., and Memory Care Living in Hillsdale, with assistance from Ascend, where she made wonderful friends and received great care. Alice is survived by her children, Kimberly Kuntz, Michael Koba, and Andrew Koba; siblings, Glen Sandoz and Alta Breunsbach; devoted nieces and nephews, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial services will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, on Monday, August 13, at 1:30 p.m. As Alice was a lifelong servant to the community and humanitarian, those wishing to remember Alice may make a donation in her name to any worthy local charity.
