Pregent, Andrew Richard Sr. SCHAGHTICOKE Andrew Richard Pregent Sr. of Main Street passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at his residence following a long illness. He was 70. Born in Mechanicville on September 4, 1947, son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Smith) Pregent; and his stepfather the late Bernie Pregent. Mr. Pregent served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969. He lived at one point in York, Maine and worked as a handyman at a local church and had also worked as a driver for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation in Albany. Survivors include his children, Andrew R. (Angela) Pregent of Ballston Spa, Louis Pregent of Ravena, Eric Pregent of Idaho, Phillip (Mandy) Sheffer of Schaghticoke and Jordan Sheffer; and his siblings, Peggy, Pete, Ginny and Tina. Relatives and friends may call from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 319 Park Ave., Mechanicville. Inurnment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Gerald B.H.
