Johnson, Ann E. JUPITER, Fla. Ann E. McAvoy Johnson, age 95, passed away in Jupiter on August 6, 2018. Born and raised in Troy, she was a graduate of Troy High School. After graduation and during World War II, Ann worked at the Watervliet Arsenal; but her biggest joy was being a housewife and mom. Ann was an amazing wife and mother; and she loved Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She loved her family and stayed true to her faith all of her life. Wife of the late William "Billy" Johnson whom she married on January 2, 1943, in Troy. Daughter of the late Anna Caulfield McAvoy and John "Jack" McAvoy. Mother of Judith (Norman) Allie of Wynantskill, Nancy Frazier of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Holly Rafferty of Wynantskill. Grandmother of Robin, Dawn, William, Melissa, NancyAnn, Sarah, Jess, Jacob, Alan, Breana, Elizabeth and Matthew. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Rita McAvoy, Joan Hebert, Rosemary Sawyer, Deloris Ryan, John McAvoy, Joseph McAvoy, Matthew McAvoy and Thomas McAvoy. Also survived by several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday at the funeral home starting at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue, Troy.
