Hotaling, Dean Gregory LUTZ, Fla. Dean Gregory Hotaling, 78, of Lutz, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012. He was born in New York and moved to Lutz, from Latham. Dean was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1955 to 1957 and was an ET3. He was very active in the USS Furse DD/DDR-882 reunions serving as secretary, treasurer, and vice president. Dean served in the Korean Conflict and was a graduate of New York University. He was an agent with Allstate Insurance, retiring after 35 years. Dean was a Mason for 45 years, past master of Wadsworth Lodge 417, Van Rensselaer Lodge and was past grand swordbearer for the Albany Mason district. Dean loved to water ski, canoe and enjoyed being in the Adirondack Mountains at his camp Onesquethaw, and was an enthusiastic member of Lake Como Family Nudist Resort. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Betty Anne; daughter, Doreen Hotaling of Latham; stepson, John McClain of Boca Raton, Fla.; stepdaughter, Melissa McClain of Atlanta; sister, Mary Lou Natoli of Oswego; four grandsons, Alex Ward, Sean McClain, Cade McClain and Sage Hass; six nephews and one niece.
