Miller, Edna Mary RENSSELAER Edna Mary (Myers) Miller, 79, of Rensselaer, entered into paradise with our Lord on February 10, 2013. Edna was born in Albany on July 6, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Mary Myers. Edna worked at the Joy Dept. Store and after it closed, at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Rensselaer until she retired. She enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes, caring for her family, and being in the company of her senior friends. She sacrificed much to raise her family, and her example of hard work and devotion was a model to her children. She was very thoughtful of others and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. One of her greatest joys was spending special time with her grandchildren and sending them "surprises" in the mail. No matter how hard she worked, she always had that extra strength to devote to her family whatever the circumstances were. She was devoted to her children and they have many wonderful memories of all the times she gave of herself. She is survived by her three children, Kevin Miller (Kathy) of West Sand Lake, Karen Miller (Dan Scharoun) of Albany and Kerry Anderson (Paul) of Rensselaer and her cherished grandchildren, Aaron Miller (Amy), Justin Miller, Mikaela Miller and Sarah Miller. She is also survived by her sisters, Mildred Hicks of Oregon and Alberta Ford of Albany. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred, Walter, Philip and George and her sisters, Eunice and Harriet. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, Wednesday, February 13 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday, February 12 from 4-8 p.m. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Rensselaer Fire Dept., 2 St. Francis Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
