Moise, George D. TROY George D. Moise, 61, of Troy, passed away at Samaritan Hospital embraced by his loving family on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of George A. Moise and the late Joan Moise (Byer) of Cohoes; and beloved husband of Maria A. Moise (Matthews) of Troy. George graduated from Cohoes High School where he was a standout athlete and first recipient of the Cohoes High School Football Hall of Fame. George was happily employed as a quality control estimator at Stanley Steemer in Green Island where he worked alongside many of his best friends. Before Stanley Steemer, he worked at New Channels and as a sales person in the printing industry for many years. George was a Siena College Basketball fan for many years but also a proud supporter and the "Biggest fan" and follower of his daughter Calli's soccer career. He was a former member of the Van Schaick Island Country Club where he enjoyed golfing for many years. He loved spending time vacationing in Wilmington, N.C, and spending his Sunday's taking drives with his wife, and also Sunday morning coffee with his dad. George had a generous heart and was a loving and caring man, helping everyone and anyone who needed anything. He was a sociable guy and enjoyed time with his friends at one of his favorite hangouts, Smith's in Cohoes. He will be missed by many. In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by his treasured daughter, Calli E. Moise of Troy; his siblings, Amy (William) Buckley of Waterford, Lawrence Moise of Cohoes and John Moise of Colonie. He is also survived many extended family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Moise. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael's Church, 36 Page Ave., Cohoes at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 14. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Michael's Church on Wednesday, June 13, from 4-7 p.m. Those wishing to remember George in a special way may make contributions in his memory to The , P.O.
