Strain, Gertrude C. COHOES Gertrude C. Strain, 92, of Eddy Village Green, beloved wife of the late Francis Strain, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at her residence. Born and educated in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Adeline Mirabella Crola. Gertrude was a devoted home health aide for Rensselaer County Department of Health, for over 10 years. She loved life and her beloved family. Devoted mother of Adeline Lennon of Malta, Elizabeth (James) Groff of Clifton Park, Patricia (Alan) Seymour of Melrose, Tina (William) Sternberg of Troy and Barbara Madsen (Jack Daley) of Troy and her adopted daughter, Roberta TeBordo of Cohoes; predeceased by her grandson, Garrett Groff and her son-in-law, James Lennon; sister of the late Rocco Crola, Mary Liguori, Julia Mai, Philomena Piterniak, Grace Angley, Anna and Anthony Crola. Also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Monday, July 16, 2018, at Our Lady of Victory Church (55 North Lake Ave., Troy) where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Ave., Lansingburgh) on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. The family would like to thank the Eddy Green Building 2 Staff for their love, compassion and care Gertrude received over the last eight and a half years. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road., Albany, NY 12205 or of Northeastern New York, Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405, Washington Ave Ext., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Gertrude C.
