Bell, Henry Albert "Harry" COHOES Henry "Harry" Albert Bell, 87, died peacefully, Friday, November 23, 2012 at home after a long illness with his family by his side. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late William J. Bell and Mabel Irwin Bell and loving wife of Thila Ann Schulze Bell of Cohoes. They were married for 63 years. A longtime resident of Latham and Troy, he was a graduate of State University of New York and attended Empire State College. Henry served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland. Henry was a pharmaceutical representative for Smith, Kline and French Pharmaceutical Company for many years. In later years he pursued his love of history and became and archivist technician at the New York State Archives in Albany. Mr. Bell was a member of Christ Church UM, Troy. He and his wife formerly served as chairs of the finance committee and superintendents of Sunday school. A member of the kitchen crew for numerous church dinners, Henry was known by his church friends as an excellent pot washer. Mr. Bell enjoyed tennis, traveling and spending time at Lake Owassa, N.J. with his family. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Thila, include a daughter, Claudia Campese (Frank) of Castle Hayne, N.C.; two sons, Thomas Bell (Terry) of Queensbury and Thilo Bell (Mary Trombley) of Troy; a sister, Mabel Joy Zang (Joseph) of Conn.; four grandsons, Joseph and Dominic Campese of N.C. and Thilo and Brock Bell of Cohoes; sisters-in-law, Jane Schulze (Carl) of N.J. and Marcia Bell (Roger) of Apalachin, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Ken Howie of Fla.; nephews, David, Jeff, James, Dick and Glen Bell, Stephen and John Bell, Carl, Greg and Jim Schulze; nieces, Margaret Lambke and Patricia Roberto, Clare Zang, Catherine Zang Cunningham and several great-nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by two brothers, William and Roger Bell and a sister-in-law, Elma Howie. Cremation took place at Gardner Earl Crematorium, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church, 35 State Street, Troy with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. All are welcome to attend the burial of cremains at Noon on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, with full military honors.
