McQuade, Joseph Eugene Jr. AMSTERDAM Joseph Eugene McQuade Jr., 68, passed away on May 15, 2018, surrounded by loving family and friends after a brief illness. Joseph was born in Troy on March 29, 1950, to the late Joan Catherine (Gentry) McQuade and Joseph Eugene McQuade Sr. Joseph proudly served his country as a Seabee in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and later worked as a welder and pipefitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 7 in Albany until his retirement. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet McQuade (Chevalier); a son, Joseph (Victoria) McQuade III of Needham, Mass.; a daughter, Jennifer McQuade of Hagaman, N.Y.; granddaughters, Claire Regina McQuade and Madeline Sofia McQuade; siblings, JoAnn (David) Smith of Afton, Tenn., Ronald (Paulette) McQuade of Elizabethton, Tenn., Richard (Vicki) McQuade of Moshiem, Tenn., Mary (Harold) Herrington of Greeneville, Tenn., and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by a brother, Michael McQuade. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam on Friday, May 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a 4 p.m. service at the funeral home with Pastor RW Williams, and with military honors to follow.
