I'm so sorry that this message is coming a year later after her passing. Kathy was a client of mine at the spa that I worked at. Every time I saw her name on my calendar I always got excited because I loved chatting with her and catching up on life and hearing all about her adorable dogs and her husband whom she loved so very much. I'm so sorry I didn't make it to the service because I would've came if I knew, to shake hands and hug all of you and tell you how sorry I am that this beautiful person was taken so young...I can still hear her voice in my head, I always told her she had the best voice I ever heard. I told her that she should be one of those people that got paid to read books out loud. I wish I could hug her one more time. XOXOX Kathleen (which I always called her)

We are sorry to submit this entry so late, it was just yesterday I heard of Mrs. Ruhmel's passing. Kathy was my daughter's teacher. I had the honor of subbing for her and truly understanding her deep dedication and pure love she had for her students. We owe a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Ruhmel. I know our daughter's academic success now and then was in part due to the strong academic foundation Mrs. Ruhmel provided for her students. We are heartbroken. We send our condolences to Kathy's family.

I was saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing. I had the pleasure of being on the interview team that quickly realized that she would be a great addition to our elementary staff. I was in Kathy’s classroom on more than a few occasions and observed a kindergarten classroom full of love and some wonderful activities. Her infectious smile and high level of energy made such a difference to the lives of her students as well as her fellow teachers and staff members. Condolences to Kathy’s family.

To Kathy’s husband Joe, and the Moore family, My deepest sympathies to you at this difficult time. Kathy was a sweet, caring, positive person. She would light up a room with her radiant smile and infectious laugh.
We started our teaching careers together helping each other out with interview tips. We subbed together and enjoyed it when the kids would confuse us as we both had freckles and long curly red hair. We both ended up getting jobs teaching kindergarten but in different buildings. Although we didn’t see each other often we really enjoyed catching up at district meetings.
Kathy was a wonderful person who will surely be missed by all! Forever in our hearts. Best wishes to all of you!

I went to high school with Kathy at Spa Catholic. Whenever I would see her, she always displayed a cheerful infectious smile and greeted me with a warm "hello". I was fortunate to be a kindergarten colleague of hers and remember meetings together and sharing details about our "little ones" and how our families were doing. Kathy blessed the world by her presence, and I am certain she is lighting up heaven with her smile, warmth, and love.
My deepest sympathy to her husband and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kathy, or Mrs. Ruhmel as we will always call her in our home, was my daughter Gracie's kindergarten teacher and we all absolutely adored her. Gracie was blessed to have such a wonderful first teacher and she set the bar high. I will never forget Gracie telling me that she had the same name as Mrs. Ruhmel's pup. Grace absolutely adored Mrs. Ruhmel. I remember her soft voice and truly kind manner and I will always be grateful for the sense of safety my little girl felt in her classroom. All of our love to her family and friends on behalf of my daughter, Grace Abraham, and myself.

I worked with Kathy for 3 years at Greenfield. What a sweet, kind and truly positive person she was. We'd bump into each other throughout the years...we were always excited to see each other and catch up on dog Mom things. I always left our meetings together feeling upbeat & positive - grateful I had seen her. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing, what an incredible loss for all who knew her. God Speed Kathy.

I am very saddened to learn of Kathy's passing. I met Kathy twenty years ago when I switched from teaching middle school to working at Greenfield Elementary. Walking by her classroom in late August as she was creating a welcoming, colorful, and fun space for her kindergarteners, I remember thinking I would like to be a student in her room. We collaborated on some projects that brought my students into her room to work with her early readers and I fondly remember the support and encouragement she gave to all. She provided many kindergarteners with a positive and loving introduction to the world of school which will ripple outward forever- more as part of her legacy. Her radiant smile and the warmth of her personality will be deeply missed by many, young and old. My heartfelt sympathies go out to her husband, Joe, and her family.

Mary, Sherm, Joe, Mike, and all of Kathy's family, I am so very sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. I met her when we lived in your duplex and she was in high school, and more recently was so happy to work with her in the district as a fellow Kindergarten teacher. She was so kind and genuine, and loved the kids so much. Although we were in different buildings, I always enjoyed catching up with her at district events and she filled me in on the Moore family happenings, always with pride and love and her great smile and laugh. Thinking of you all and praying for you now and in the days ahead, Sue

Mrs Ruhmel was my daughter’s teacher. We called her “Snow White” because she was so beautiful and kind and spoke with the patience of a saint. What a loss. She will live on in the heart of my child, I can promise you that!

Kathy was a colleague but most of all a cherished friend. She just sparkled inside and out. When we spoke out conversations were always long and filled with Kathy's infectious laugh. She always had a unique and humorous way of describing any event. It was such a joy to be with her. She was a gift to all who knew her.She will be so greatly missed.
My deepest sympathy and love to Joe, her parents and family. I pray that God gives you love, comfort and support on this very difficult journey.

The 1st best friends you will have in life are your cousins. The Moore family was/is a very close family. Kathy & I grew up together from day 1. We spent holidays together, Sunday dinners, birthdays, summers and school vacations, etcwe both cheered in High School, we were college roommates for a year (and cheered together that year), spent many St Patrick's Days, and we traveled across Ireland together. Kathy was the kindest and most beautiful person you’d ever meet. And her career choice to be a kindergarten teacher in the Saratoga School district fit her perfectly. She will forever be in my heart. I love you Kathleen Marie Moore-Ruhmel, ❤ May you Rest In Peace

Whenever I think about Kathy, I always think of this one day I saw her at the track. She was standing near the winner's circle. She had on a black hat and she was laughing. I remember thinking, she is the personification of the word radiant.

I loved how she would tell a story. She could speak so rapidly and there were so many details. She would always tell us the way it was in "Mooresville."

Kathy had so much joy and you couldn't help but catch it from her.

I was so blessed to have this wonderful person in my life.
