Margaret Scharff Obituary

Scharff, Margaret E. SOUTH BETHLEHEM Margaret E. Scharff passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany on June 2, 1940, Peggy was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Kinary) Glasser. She attended St. Ann's Academy and Cardinal McCloskey High School. Peggy retired from the Ravena-Coeymans Selkirk School District in 2012 after 34 years of service. Peggy was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Scharff; her daughter Jean and son-in-law Paul Gasparini, her daughter Deborah Scharff and partner Sean Tarantelli, and her ten adoring grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Helen. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to everyone at Our Lady of Mercy for their love, comfort and care. A funeral service was held privately for her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY, 12205 in Peggy's name.
