Favicchio, Marlene ATHENS, N.Y. Marlene Favicchio, 66, a resident of Athens, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Marlene was born in Catskill on March 10, 1951, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Madeline Helmer. Survivors include her husband, Ralph; sons, Michael (Joyce) and Mark (Jennifer); brothers, Marty (Pat) and Mark (Wendy); grandsons, Matthew, Nicholas, Daniel and Andrew; a niece and nephews; brother-in-law, Guy (Barbara); and sister-in-law, Margo Schirmer. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul and Robert Helmer. Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, decorating for Christmas, and a glass of red wine. Her generous spirit and beautiful smile will live forever in our hearts. Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday, October 15, from 3- 7 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, 28 North Vernon St., Athens. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 16, at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's of Athens. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Athens Rural Cemetery, in Athens. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send contributions in her name to the , Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, N.Y. 13057.
