Perkins, Orland G. Sr. COXSACKIE Orland G. Perkins Sr. "Local Oil Man", age 64, entered into eternal rest on May 11, 2013. Born on December 24, 1948 in Crown Point, N.Y. to the late George N. Perkins and Lillian Whittemore. The family moved to Coxsackie and he later enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Once discharged he moved back to Coxsackie and worked for Manley Hillicoss with his father George. He then went to work for Watson Oil which then became Amos Post, then Kosco and presently Getty Corp. After 39 years of delivering oil to local residents he retired in 2011. Orland was also a member of the VFW post 770 of Catskill, Elks lodge 1341 of Catskill, and the American Legion TGM post 187. He leaves behind four children, Linda (Michael) Burger of Saugerties, Teresa (Erik) Marsilio of Coxsackie, Orland G. (Ann) Perkins Jr. of Athens, and Tanya Komaromi; 11 grandchildren and one great- grandchild; a sister, Georg Robedee of Coxsackie; one uncle, Russell (Bonnie) Perkins of Coxsackie; one aunt, Ortha (Francis) Baker of Perth, N.Y.; several more aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many, friends. Also his ex-wife, Beverly Perkins of Catskill. Orland also leaves behind his loving fiance of 10 years, Diane VanAlstyne and her two Children, Eugene VanAlstyne of Delhi, N.Y. and William Vanalstyne of Greenville. Other than his parents Orland was predeceased by two brothers, Jess Taylor and George LaMere. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call at the W.C. Brady's Sons Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie on Thursday May 16 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home with Rev. Retta Lykens of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Riverside Cemetery, Coxsackie.
