Remick, Paul Bernard CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. Paul Bernard Remick, 69, of Crystal River, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 18, 2018. Paul was born on May 22, 1949, to the late Frances and Bernard Remick in Utica, but moved to the Albany area, living there for many years. He graduated from SUNY Albany. He found great pleasure working at the Albany Home for Children. After retiring from the N.Y. State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, he moved to Florida. There, he lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, especially golfing with friends at the Plantation on Crystal River Golf Club where he was a member; traveling, swimming, reading, playing cards, camping in New York, visiting his grandson, and walking his dog, Lucky. Paul will be remembered for his love of family and friends, passion for sports of all kinds, his positivity, and sense of humor. Paul is survived by his wife, Lori Remick; "daughter" Lisa (Steven) D'Ortone and grandson, Dominic D'Ortone of Towson, Md.; sister, Janice (Brent) Lerch of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Susan Zullo of Bethesda, Md.; mother-in-law, Beverly (Richard) Fortnam of DeBary, Fla.; nieces and godchildren, Kristina Patel of Athens, Ga. and Julia Lerch of Alpharetta, and other relatives and cherished friends in many states. In furthering his generosity of spirit, Paul donated the gift of sight to two people. A memorial service will be held on September 22, at 5 p.m. at Augies Restaurant in Ballston Spa. Donations may be made in Paul's name to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
