Wolfe, Philip A. Jr. CHARLTON Philip A. Wolfe Jr., 69, passed away suddenly in his home on Sunday, November 12, 2017, with his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Gayle (Stine) and beloved dog, Luciebelle at his side. Phil deeply loved his three daughters, Tracie (Christopher) Norris, Christine (Christopher) Wade, and Jennifer (Ryan) Hernigle. He was adored as grandpa to Jesse and Makenzie; and as "Bop-Bop" to Natalie. Phil was born to Philip and Genevieve (Kieru) Wolfe on September 14, 1948, in New York. Phil is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Cheryl) Wolfe, Dennis (Linda) Wolfe; sister, Cynthia Wolfe Matthews; and several nieces and nephews. Phil graduated from Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Senior High and attended Hudson Valley. Phil was a life-long outdoorsman and began his love of the Adirondack Park as a child through Boy Scouts, and through his many adventures with his brothers. Phil continued the tradition of camping with his own family, building upon his fond memories of fishing, hunting and snowmobiling in the mountains. He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for over 30 years, and continued restoring old cars and playing on Harleys in retirement. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 16, at 10 a.m. from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. Interment will follow services on Thursday in the Sweetman Cemetery in historic Charlton. Calling hours for friends and family will be held Wednesday (today) from 5-8 p.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home.
