Ray Cooley Obituary

Cooley, Ray A. Sr. ALBANY Ray A. Cooley Sr., 59, was called home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 with his wife by his side. He was born in Waynesboro, Miss., to the late Levell Sr. and Juanita Cooley. Ray enjoyed cooking, going to church and spending time with his grandchildren, especially going to his grandson's baseball games. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his sister, Vera Jean Campbell and his brother, Larry Cooley Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Loneita Cooley; his beloved children, Swazzett Bedward, Denoshi (Leslie) Salmon, Ray Cooley Jr. and Ramona Cooley; his cherished grandchildren, Diana, Quincy, Qua-Isha, Elijah, Ramair, Mo-Neysia. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; his five brothers, Lee E. (Liz), Floyd (Gwen), William (Emma), Levell Jr., Alfred Cooley; his sister, Virginia (Levon) Terrell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Funeral service for Ray will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 12 p.m. at Elijah Missionary Baptist Church, 12 Benjamin St., Albany. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery.
