DiCarlo, Salvatore "Sammie" ALBANY Salvatore G. DiCarlo, 81, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, Sal was the son of the late Giuseppe and Mary Strano DiCarlo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Sal was the longtime owner and proprietor of DiCarlo's Gentlemen's Club on Central Avenue, which was formerly known as September's and then the Backstage. He was the 33-year companion of Barbara Sammon, and her children, Robert Sammon Jr. and Heather Sammon; brother of Mary Coluccio (Tony) and Mario DeCarlo; uncle of Paul Coluccio (Lisa), Joe Coluccio (Dawn), Tony Coluccio and Anthony DeCarlo; father of Gary DiCarlo, Mary June DiCarlo, Sharyn DiCarlo and Joann DiCarlo; he is also survived by grandchildren, grandnieces and grandnephews. Barbara would like to thank Brandy and Kevin Karczewski for all their help taking care of Sal, and many thanks also to her children, Robbie and Heather, along with St. Peter's Hospital ICU staff for the help and care they provided. Funeral services, Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany thence to the Historic Church of St. Mary on Capitol Hill, Albany at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Salvatore G.
