Martin, Fortis "Torchy" W. COXSACKIE Fortis "Torchy" Martin, 91, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 peacefully at his residence. Torchy was a professional horseman for most of his life, running his business on Jericho Road in Selkirk. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Martin of W. Coxsackie; children, Wayne (Martha) Martin of Albany and Neil (Wanda) Martin of Feura Bush; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Mildred Martin. Torchy was predeceased by his wife Naomi Martin; brothers, Glenwood, Walter and Mike Martin; and sister, Lucille Runkle. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Saturday, February 23 from 12 to 2. Immediately following calling hours at 2 p.m., a memorial service will be held to which everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Torchy may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414 or to Parkside Veterinary Hospital, 172 Morton Ave., Albany, NY 12202.
