Weidman, Gladys A. RAVENA Gladys Sunday Weidman, 80, entered eternal glory Sunday, May 25, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Uthe Sunday. Gladys was a lifelong resident of Ravena. Gladys was a graduate of Crane School of Music, Potsdam. She was the organist and choir director at the Congregational Christian Church, Ravena for over 47 years. She also taught piano and organ lessons at home with many of her music students going on to become music education teachers. Gladys was the founder and director of the Regent Cavalier Singers and the Alleluia Chorus groups in the Ravena, Coeymans area. Gladys was predeceased by her husband James A. Weidman. Survivors include her son, James H. (Barbara) Weidman of Albany; sister, Louise Vincent of Va.; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Gladys was predeceased by her son, Robert W. Weidman. The family wishes to thank the Evergreen Commons for their care and compassion for Gladys. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Congregational Christian Church, Ravena. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Coeymans. Friends may call at the church prior to the funeral starting at 10 a.m. Contributions in memory of Gladys may be made to the Congregational Christian Church, 175 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143.
