NOKOMIS, Fla. June E. Garringer, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2003 in the Columbia-Greene Long Term Care Facility in Catskill where she had been a resident for the past year. June was born to parents, Lybran and Glenn Hawk, October 16, 1918 in Indianapolis, Ind. June along with husband, Lloyd and daughter, Kay, moved from Muncie, Ind. to Nokomis, Fla. in 1952. She was the loving mother of her daughter, Kay E. Garringer-Quinto of Coeymans Hollow; mother-in-law of Ernest J. Quinto; grandmother of Matthew D. and Mark L. Quinto of Coeymans Hollow; great-grandmother of Ethan Matthew Quinto of Saugerties; aunt to Pamela Fulton of Bradenton, Fla., Bill Hawk Jr. of St. Louis, Mo. and Wesley Hawk of Indianapolis, Ind.; many grandnieces and grandnephews. June is also survived by close family friends Ann Burnette, who she loved as a daughter and Kristen Poe as granddaughter along with her many friends and neighbors in the Nokomis/Venice area. Her husband Lloyd Garringer and her brothers, Bill and Jack Hawk predeceased June. A memorial service is planned at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Coeymans Hollow for 8:00 Friday evening August 1, 2003. Memorial contributions can be made to the activities fund at Columbia-Greene Long Term Care, 161 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414. June's family wishes to thank the staff of Columbia-Greene Long Term Care for the wonderful care they gave and to the Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene for their support.
