RAVENA Conchetta (Connie) Diacetis, 86, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family Monday, August 25, 2003. Daughter of the late Theresa and Ceasar Christiana and loving wife of over 55 years to the late Theodore Diacetis Sr. Born on September 1, 1916, Connie was a lifetime resident of Ravena. She was also a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Church, where she was involved in many church organizations, Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, Columbiettes, and Eucharist Minister. She was also an active member of Senior Projects of Ravena. Connie was the loving mother of Theresa (Frank) Smith of Niskayuna, Theodore (Maryjane) Diacetis Jr. of Albany, The Rev. Anthony Diacetis, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church in Ballston Lake and Barbara (Terry) Powell of Earlton, and the late Constance Diacetis who passed away shortly after her birth. Grandmother to Teresa Smith and Patricia (Jamie) Montena of Niskayuna, Alicia (Brian) Searles of Ravena, James Diacetis of Latham, Mark (Tracy) Diacetis of Conn., Stephanie (Andrew) Murphy of Earlton and Scott W. Powell of Calif. Loving great-grandmother to Matthew and Evan Montena, Emilie and Tyler Searles, Zachary Diacetis, Ashley and Amber Diacetis and Lincoln and Evangeline Murphy. Also survived by her sisters, Sr. Mary Benedict of St. Colman's Home in Watervliet, Madeline Guido of Schenectady and Nicolina (Maggie) Downey of Latham; brothers, Patrick Christiana of Ravena and Benedict (Benny) Christiana of Fla. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her son, Rev. Anthony Diacetis on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Ravena with burial immediately following the service at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Coeymans. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Connie's life will follow immediately after the service for family and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main St., Ravena. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Connie in a special way, contributions to the St. Patrick's Memorial Fund, 21 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143 would be greatly appreciated.
