RAVENA Frank E. Thatcher, 80, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at St. Peter's Hospital. Frank was born in Friend, Neb., son of the late Howard and Ellen Thatcher. He had lived in the Ravena area since 1948. He was a veteran of the Army and Navy serving during World War II. Frank had worked at the Ravena Foundry, Hawn Lumber Co., NY Central Railroad and retired after 30 years service from NYS Department of Correctional Services. Survivors include his wife, Jean Sickler Thatcher of Ravena; daughters, Brenda (Marty) Shields of Coeymans Hollow and Kim (Ron) Wickham of Ravena; Poppy Frank to eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Janet Thatcher Sweeney of Alcove. Frank was predeceased by his son, Howard Thatcher. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 19 at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Coeymans. Contributions in memory of Frank may be made to the American Lung Association, 3 Winners Circle Suite 300, Albany, NY 12205-1187.
