SELKIRK Mary A. Petramale Scalzo, 85, died Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Teresian House. Mary was born in Athens and had resided in Selkirk since 1959. She was a sales clerk for John G. Myers for many years. Together with her husband, Patrick and his parents, Joseph and Teresa Scalzo, they owned and operated the former Joseph's Restaurant in Selkirk. Mary was well known for her baked goods, especially her wine and knot cookies. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Patrick J. Scalzo. Survivors include sons, Joseph P. (Barbara) Scalzo and Patrick J. Scalzo Jr. both of Selkirk; sisters, Margaret Petramale, Ann (Sam) Pomellitto and Lillian Altimari; brother, Frank (Carol) Petramale; grandchildren, Theresa (Jim) Conlin, Johanna, Stephanie and Jill Scalzo; great-grandchildren, Michelle McDonald and Jamie Conlin; special niece, Therese (Tom) Butts; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Ann Scalzo, Mary Ann Clouse McCarville and Amy Scalzo. Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Frances Esposito, Tessie Daisernia and Josephine Petramale. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21 at the Teresian House in Albany. Friends may call at the Teresian House on Wednesday before the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial private. Contributions, in memory of Mary, may be made to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12203.
