RAVENA Grace D. Meliti, 77, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at Memorial Hospital. Grace was born in Ossining, N.Y., daughter of the late Rudolph and Florence Deihsler. She lived most of her life in Croton on Hudson, N.Y. before moving to Ravena in retirement. She was a graduate of Holy Name of Mary Catholic School. Grace worked as a secretary in NYC, Texas and Florida before marriage, and after the children were in school, went back to work at Coastal Machinery Sales and other corporations before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, reading, cleaning (!) and maintaining lifelong friendships. Survivors include her husband Virgil J. Meliti of Ravena; children, Nicholas G. Meliti and wife Christa of Plattsburgh, V. James Meliti Jr. and wife Coleen of Wappingers Falls, Michele Brumsey and husband Terry of Selkirk, Thomas Waldron and wife Denise of S.C.; grandchildren, James C. Meliti, Sam Brumsey, Madeline Brumsey, Ben and Nathaniel Waldron, Megan Baughn, Erin Corral and husband Paul; great-grandchildren, Syvell and Tequira Isom-Brandon; sisters, Katherine Fleming of Pa. and Florence Mitchell of Buchanan, N.Y. Grace was predeceased by her son, Stephen J. Meliti; grandchild, Matthew Baughn; sisters, Claire Buvens and Rosemary Carsten. Funeral services will be held 9:30 Saturday morning, November 29 at St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Croton on Hudson. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Friday, November 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions, in addition to flowers in memory of Grace, may be made to the VFW Post 9594, Sickroom Supply, 49 So. Clement Ave., Ravena, NY 12143.
