SELKIRK Alexandro Ortiz, 76, entered into heaven on January 25, 2006. Al was born in Puerto Rico on February 27, 1929, moved to New York at the age of 10 and, at the age of 18, Al moved to Blenheim where he met and married his wife Betty on November 18, 1948. Al and Betty moved to Selkirk, where he started his landscaping business, which he did most of his life. Al will always be remembered, loved and missed dearly. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Warner Ortiz of Selkirk; children, Alexandro (Diana) Ortiz Jr. of Hannacroix, Michael (Maryann) Ortiz of Selkirk, Juanita Ortiz of Selkirk, Lynda (Keith) Geraldsen of Ravena and Michelle (Scott) Sweet of Selkirk; grandchildren, Joey, Venessa, Katie, Brenda, Tanya, Donita, Theresa, Chrissy, Bryan, Angie, Alex, Ashley, Keith, Krystal, Kailyn, Elissa and Christopher; and several great-grandchildren. Al was predeceased by his children, Christopher and Kathy, and his grandson, Deven Sweet. Relatives and friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Sunday, January 29 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Flowers are welcome.
