DELMAR Raymond G. Dutcher, 81, died Friday, December 26, 2003 at his son's residence in Rotterdam after a long illness. Ray was born in Greenwich, N.Y. and had lived in the Town of Bethlehem for 53 years. He retired in 1986 after 45 years of service as yardmaster for Conrail in Selkirk. Ray was a charter member of Selkirk Fire Co. No. 2 and was known for his poetry. His wife, Mary H. Shields Dutcher, died in September 2003. Survivors include his son, Raymond Dutcher and his wife Dorothy of Rotterdam; grandchildren, Christina Dutcher, Jennifer (Keith) Collins and Kathleen (Timothy) Sicko; great-grandchildren, Justin Sicko and Maggie Collins; and sister, Ann Feaster of W.V. Ray was also predeceased by his son, Michael Dutcher; brothers, James and Sidney Dutcher; and sister, Mary Lou Shader. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 Tuesday morning, December 30 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will take place in the Spring.
