COEYMANS HOLLOW Charles H. Biers Jr., 77, entered eternal life on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his residence after a long illness. Charles had lived his entire life in Coeymans Hollow. He had been a logger in his early years and an owner/operator for 30 years at Callanan Industries. Charlie was a former race car driver and belonged to the North East Stock Car Old Timers Club. He was active in antique tractor pulling and modified tractor and truck pulling throughout the country. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bernice A. Biechman Biers of Coeymans Hollow; children, Carolyn (Rich Irving) Wilber of Selkirk, Janet M. (Lester) Loucks of Richfield Springs, N.Y., Mary A. (Gary) Bogardus of Ravena, Charles H. (Elaine) Biers III of Selkirk, John E. (Laurie) Biers of Feura Bush, William (Theresa) Biers and Nancy L. (Charles) Millious, both of Coeymans Hollow; 16 grandchildren; one very special granddaughter, Rebecca Wilber who took care of Charlie at home the last two weeks and 11 great-grandchildren. Charlie was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew D. Irving. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Onesquethaw Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in memory of Charles may be made to the Ravena Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 144, Ravena, NY 12143.
