RAVENA Theodore Ted Pebler, age 84, died May 7, 2006. Ted was born February 23, 1922 in Ravena to the late John Pebler and Emma Pflieger. Ted was an active member of the Congregational Christian Church of Ravena where he served as a deacon and trustee. He worked many hours helping to preserve and improve the church building. Ted was a union carpenter and, in later years, self-employed. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a member of the Ravena Fish and Game Club. Ted was known as Pa to many children. He also loved having family cats and dogs. Ted was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Valerie Pebler; daughters, Patricia Gallagher and Linda Datri; step-daughter, Susan Meyers; grandchildren, Tina Driscoll, Kimberly Gallagher, Christopher Gallagher, John Datri, Eric Datri, Dawn Hale, David Pebler, Deborah Freestone and Samantha Daniul; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Winne and Barbara Cumm. Ted was predeceased by three sons, Teddy, Gary and Terry Pebler; two brothers, John and Jim Pebler; sister, Tess Van Wie. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Contributions, in memory of Ted, may be made to the Activity Fund, Kaaterskill Care, 161 Jefferson Heights, Catskill, NY 12414 or to the Capital City Rescue Mission, P.O.
