SOUTH BETHLEHEM Harry Parks, 81, died Thursday, January 15, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. Harry was born in Coxsackie and has lived in South Bethlehem since 1950. He retired in 1987 after 40 years of service with Conrail in Selkirk. Mr. Parks defended the freedom of his country during World War II, fighting with the 87th Infantry Division in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the 87th Infantry Division Association, World War II Memorial Society, American Legion, Willy's Overland Jeepster Club, Automobilist of Upper Hudson Valley Inc., and the Selkirk Fire Co. Harry was predeceased by his wife Irene Donar Parks. Survivors include his daughter, Carol Neidlinger of South Bethlehem; son, Larry (Carol) Parks of Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 3:00 Monday afternoon January 19, 2004 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will take place in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday preceding the service starting at 1 p.m. Contributions in memory of Harry may be made to the South Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 65 Willowbrook Ave., So. Bethlehem, NY 12161.
