RAVENA William DeBarthe, 85, entered eternal life on Tuesday, June 13, 2006. William was born in Albany, son of the late Margaret and William DeBarthe. He was a 1939 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. William was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. He worked in West Albany for Penn Central Railroad for 20 years and, in 1984, he retired from NYS Department of Audit and Control, where he worked as an accountant. William was a dedicated NY Giants fan, loved the Boston Red Sox and witnessed their World Series win in 2004. He was an avid CBA sports fan. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Josephine Bruno DeBarthe of Ravena; children, Gloria (Bill) Albright of Hannacroix, Margaret DeBarthe of Ravena and William (Cynthia) DeBarthe of Schenectady; his cherished granddaughter, Amberlee DeBarthe of N.C.; and his brother, Joseph (Shirley) DeBarthe of Utica. William was predeceased by his brother, Robert. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the VFW Post 9594, 49 So. Clement Ave., Ravena, NY 12143 or to the American Heart Association.
