CENTER BRUNSWICK Loretta E. Maynard Goyer Tierney, 87, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Loretta was born in Cohoes to the late Arthur and Georgiana Cournoier Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Emmott J. Goyer and Albert J. Tierney; brother, Arthur Maynard; and son, William E. Goyer. Loretta is survived by her sons, Robert H. (Patricia) Goyer of Center Brunswick and Carl W. Goyer of Albany; grandchildren, John (Veronica) Goyer of Calif., Joanne (Leonard) Harris of Center Brunswick, Bonnie (Douglas Jr.) Keyer and Scott Goyer, both of Ravena; great-grandchildren, William (Angie) Harris and Crystal (David) Maxwell, both of Center Brunswick, DyLan, Brittany and Brianna Keyer, all of Ravena; great-great-grandchild, Paige Maxwell of Center Brunswick; sister, Lillian Lucas of Waterford; and several nieces and nephews. Loretta was an active member and past president of the Center Brunswick Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, belonged to Home Bureau and helped her husband, Emmott in his business, E.J. Goyer Dairy Farm Equipment of Center Brunswick. After her retirement, she was active in the National Cancer Society in Fort Myers, Fla. She enjoyed ceramics and especially crocheting. She made many lovely afghans and sweaters for her family, lap robes for cancer patients, baby bonnets and booties for newborns, which she donated to local hospitals. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Eagle Mills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Loretta's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
