RAVENA Alice J. Powetek, 74, died Sunday, January 18, 2004 at the Albany County Nursing Home. Alice was born in New York City and has lived in Ravena over 60 years. She was a home health aide for many families in the area. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Ravena and the Rosary Altar Society, a member of the United Methodist Workers and a charter and life member of the Coeymans Hollow Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed cooking, bingo and her grandchildren. Alice was the wife of the late Joseph M. Powetek. Survivors include her children, Joseph P. (Sandra) Powetek of New Baltimore, Pauline F. (Al) Nahal of Boston, Marline A. (Frank) Stanton of Coeymans Hollow and Kimberly A. (John) Rarick of Feura Bush; sister, Josephine Baumann of NYC; brother, Chester Abramek of LI; seven grandchildren; dear and close friend of Sister Bernadette CR of St. Adalbert Church in Schenectady; many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her son, Michael D. Powetek; four brothers; one sister. Funeral services will be held 9:30 Wednesday morning, January 21, 2004 at St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 21 Main Street, Ravena, NY 12143 or to United Methodist Workers, c/o Trinity United Methodist Church, SR 143, Coeymans Hollow, NY 12046.
