RAVENA James J. Polverelli, 86, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at St. Peter's Hospital. James was born in Coeymans and had lived in Ravena most of his life. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. James retired in 1983 after 40 years of service with Powell-Minnock Brick Yard as a crane operator. He was a member of the American Legion Post 114, Local 445 Teamsters and a life member of the Ravena VFW Post 9594. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. James was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Buzon Polverelli. Survivors include his children, Jay (Gayle) Polverelli of Mich., Robyn (Richard) Mueller of Alcove and Todd (Jennifer) Polverelli of Ravena; sister, Angie Bassotti of Ravena; grandchildren, Jayson Polverelli, Melanie (Matthew) Schwabrow, Andrea and Matthew Mueller, Zachary, Lindsay, Luciano, Rylee and Bailey Polverelli; and one great-grandson, Bryan Schwabrow. His sisters, Jane Biscone and Helen Dean and brother, Mike Polverelli predeceased James. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 9:30 Saturday morning February 28 at St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 21 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143 in memory of James.
