Bensinger, Eugene G. COEYMANS HOLLOW Eugene G. Bensinger, 82, entered eternal life Tuesday, November 7, 2006. Ben had lived in Coeymans Hollow for 40 years. He was a Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II. Ben had owned and operated his own awning business, worked for the former Schaefer's Brewery and, in 1985, retired for the City of Albany Sewer Treatment Plant. He was a life member of the NRA, a member of the Wildlife League and Forbes Sportsmen Club, known as the Watervliet Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid sportsman who loved nature and the outdoors. Survivors include his nephew, Robert Bensinger; adopted family, Bob and Cindy Foronda and children, Corey, Tyler and Carolyn, Joshua, Talia, Tia, Eliason and Caleb; close friends, Louis and Winifred Gilbert; and many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved father and stepmother Eugene L. and Pearl Bensinger; and brother, Robert. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 10 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. Contributions in memory of Ben may be made to the DAV, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
