RAVENA Christopher J. Biscone, 82, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 7, 2004 with his family by his side. Chris was born and lived all his life in Ravena, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Biscone. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper, participating in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He had been employed 40 years for NY Central, Penn Central and Conrail Railroad. Christopher was a member and past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 3424, former district warden of the Knights of Columbus, and former board member of the Knights of Columbus Capital Conference. Mr. Biscone was on the board of directors of the Albany County Soil and Water Conservation District, member of the Ravena VFW and Ravena Grange and an active member and Eucharistic minister of St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Survivors include his wife Angela E. Biscone of Ravena; daughters, Christine A. (Bud) Irwin of Coeymans, Mary Beth (Richard) McKeen of East Schodack and Cindy S. Biscone of Colonie; grandchildren, Erin C. (James) Cunningham, Stacy A. Irwin, Rick K. McKeen, and Melanie L. McKeen; siblings, John J. Biscone, Francis (Pop) Biscone, Anthony Biscone, Joseph J. (Jeanne) Biscone, Mary A. Biscone, and Rose (John) Serapilio; and many nieces and nephews. Chris was predeceased by his sisters, Louise Harvey and Martha Musso and brother, Dominick Biscone. Funeral services will be held 9:30 Thursday morning, March 11, 2004 at St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Entombment will take place in St. Patrick's Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in memory of Chris may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 21 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143 or to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
