NEW BALTIMORE Marion E. (Hulbert) Van Wormer, 73, died suddenly Monday, February 14, 2005 at St. Peter's Hospital after being stricken at home. Born in Catskill, she was raised in the area of Green Lake and came to the Ravena area in 1950. Marion was a member of the Ravena Hose Company #1 Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She also enjoyed bowling at Ravena Lanes. Marion was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Athens. She made friends easily and was a good friend to many. Marion is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harold Lindy Van Wormer; her sister, Nellie Carney of Athens; two nieces; two nephews and three cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Nellie Kellner Hulbert; one brother, Clayton Hulbert and one sister, Theretta Jolly. Relatives and friends may call at Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena on Thursday after 4:00 p.m. and are welcome to remain for the funeral at 6:00 p.m. Spring burial will be in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorial contributions to the Ravena Hose Company #1, 116 Main Street, Ravena, NY 12143 will be appreciated.
