RAVENA Jean LaRose Becker, 58, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 7, 2005. Jean was born in Troy and lived in Ravena 40 years. She worked for the R-C-S School District as a suspension aide and a janitor. She also worked at Ed's Diner for 18 years. Jean also enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. Survivors include her husband Rodrick Becker; children, Russell LaRose, Mark LaRose and Roger Becker; stepson Ralph Becker; grandchildren, Stacy LaRose, Zachary Croisdale, Ryan and Ross Becker; siblings, Lillian Abare, Helen McFarland, John, Richard, Robert and Shirley Nestoryak, Nancy Miller and Joyce Firstern. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her sister Joan Bean. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, New Baltimore. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Jean may be made to the Justin Bonafide Scholarship Fund, the Coeymans Hollow Methodist Church or to the Ravena Rescue Squad.
