NEW BALTIMORE William L. Baldwin, 68, passed on to eternal life at his residence on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Bill was raised in New Baltimore and after 33 years in New Jersey returned to his home in New Baltimore. He was the son of the late James and Emma Lou Baldwin. William was an Army veteran serving in the European Theater and during the Korean War. In 1992, Bill retired after many years of service as a chemical engineer with Devro Inc., a division of Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey. Bill had been a member and captain of the Martinsville Rescue Squad and Fire Co., past Master Solomon's Lodge #46, member and past High Priest Keystone Chapter #25 and a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, all in New Jersey. Bill was a member of the New Baltimore Cornell Hook & Ladder, the Coxsackie Ark Lodge #48 and was a very active member of the New Baltimore Reformed Church. Bill volunteered for many organizations. Survivors include his wife, Helga Baldwin of New Baltimore; children, Karl J. (Patricia) Baldwin of N.J., Sylvia U. (Paul) Hollman of Conn. and Heidi L. (Mark) Carpenter of West Seneca, N.Y.; brother, James H. Baldwin Jr. of Colo.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; uncle, Clifton Baldwin of New Baltimore; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25 at the New Baltimore Reformed Church. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Lawn Cemetery.
