Gough, Gerard M RAVENA Gerard M. Gough, 88, of Ravena, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar. Born in St. Joseph's Salmonier, Newfoundland on June 16, 1918, he was the son of Joseph and Ellen (O'Rourke) Gough. Gerry moved his family to Ravena, N.Y. in 1952 where he and his wife Hilda raised their seven children. He worked for Bushey Marine Transportation of the Tugboats until his retirement in 1980. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed many happy times with family and friends and traveled frequently to Newfoundland. Gerry is survived by Hilda, his wife of 63 years; his son, Patrick (Janet) of Greenville; his four daughters, Eleanor (Boyd) Walker of Fla., Annie Goff of Bethlehem, Cecile (Mike) Mulhern of Feura Bush and Geraldine (Richard) Duesberry of Pa. He is predeceased by his daughter, Brigid (Roland) Eustace; his son, Ted; three sisters and three brothers, Gerry is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families in Newfoundland. Gerry will be lovingly remembered for his devoted and compassionate nature, his gentlemanly demeanor, tirelessly giving of himself to his family and friends and his strong faith. He was a wonderful cook and loved to share his "Newfie Hospitality". Gerry's wife and family wish to express their deep gratitude to St.Peter's Home Care, especially Michele Murray, the staff at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center who so dearly cared for him, Memorial Hospital staff including the ER staff, fourth floor doctors and nurses and the cardiac program, Community Hospice of Albany, his faithful friends in Ravena and at VanAllen Senior Apartments and the countless persons who touched his special life in so many little ways. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10 at St. Patrick's Church, Ravena. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Coeymans. Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena Saturday prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center, 125 Rockefeller Road, Delmar, NY 12054.
