VanDerlofske, Carl J. RAVENA Carl J. VanDerlofske, 80, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at his residence after a long illness. Carl was born in Freeport, N.Y. and has lived in Ravena for eight years. Carl served in the US Navy during World War II on the USS Willis. In 1989, he retired after many years of service with the former Atlantic Cement Co. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and OTB Scratch offs. Carl was predeceased by his wife Margaret A. VanDerlofske. Survivors include his children, Sue Dever, Carol Keating, Peg Jones, Carl VanDerlofske Jr., Mary Hillman and Ed VanDerlofske; sister, Florence Barton; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Carl was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Coeymans. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Carl may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
