Kniffen, Mildred "Ruth" RAVENA Mildred "Ruth" Kniffen, 96, entered eternal life Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Teresian House. Mildred was born in Athens, daughter of the late Raymond and Katherine Scott, and had lived in Ravena for over 50 years. Ruth as she was known by her family and friends, was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Ravena. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Alfred E. Kniffen. Survivors include her children, Dorothy Nethaway of W. Coxsackie, Ann Kelly of Fla., Albert Kniffen of Loudonville and Robert Kniffen of Ariz.; brothers, George Scott of Athens and Floyd Scott of Saugerties; sister Phyllis Barkman of Hudson; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-children and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Christiana Deyo and brothers, Wilsey, Robert, Herbert, Ernest and Irving Scott. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 22 at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena. Burial will follow in the town of Catskill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mildred may be made to the Congregational Christian Church, 175 Main St., Ravena, NY 12143 or to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203.
