Carol Ann Jones

Jones, Carol Ann SCOTIA Carol Ann Jones, 77, of Scotia and Clifton Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at The Home of the Good Shepard, Malta. Born in Schenectady on August 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter Raymond and Anna Luther Jones. Carol was a life long area resident and attended local schools, graduating from Scotia High School. She went on to obtain her degrees from S.U.N.Y. Fredonia and master's from Sage College. She was a member of Scotia United Methodist Church. Carol was a teacher with Schenendehowa Schools for 49 years, until her retirement. She was a skilled piano player, often sharing her talents at school events and weddings. Carol was very active, she enjoyed downhill skiing, kayaking, long distance bike rides, and was involved in the Schenectady Women's Tennis Association as well as Albany SOS (Singles Outreach Services). She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce Jones; and by her nephews and niece, Jeffrey and Lorrie Jones, Timothy and Carolyn Jones and Jocelyn and John Duff. She also had six great-nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with a host of friends who loved her. A very special thank you to the staff at The Home of the Good Shepard for the exceptional care provided to Carol during her stay. She was so fortunate to have many friends who visited her so faithfully while she was ill. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Scotia United Methodist Church, 201 North Ten Broeck St., Scotia, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Scotia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CureCMT4J, a foundation seeking a cure for the disease that Carol's grand-niece, Talia, is suffering from.
