Linda And Family,
Corky has been a good friend of mine for years. We played basketball and softball together together (I wasn't on his level). His Dad Chuck was a friend of mine when he was director of the recreation department. I was honored when Mr. Chester Skinner asked me to ask Corky if he would come coach at Bolles. Corky told me he was 2 years away from retirement and if the job was available then he would come. Mr. Skinner told me he understood and he could wait. The rest is history.

My deepest sympathies to the wife and family of Coach Rogers. Along with Coach Ed Johnson, Coach Rogers was one of my role models as a senior from the Robert E. Lee class of 1972. Of no surprise, he was respected and revered then...even before he became famous and set all the records. I was proud to have known him and thankful for the influence he had in my life and so many others. God bless you and give you peace. James Hazouri and family.

I had the privilege of playing and honor of Coaching under Coach Rogers. His leadership and impact is still with me today in many ways.
The ultimate was being mentored under his leadership.
Having the pleasure of fishing with Him,a true Joy.
Coach Rogers is a man that is leaving an indelible mark we will never be forgotten and is truly a part of us.
The impact he had on so many is in the hundreds if not thousands. He carried and completed a legacy that will be long remembered, not just in winning but building young men with character.
He always treated everyone with decency and respect. I loved that man and pray I can help be an extension of his legacy throughout the rest of my life in all I do.
God has a wonderful man in His arms today.

I played for Coach from 85-87 graduated 88, at Lee. He taught me so much not just in the few years playing for him but, the years after as we seen each other from time to time. I am who I am today by the work ethic, respect for yourself and others, and dependability he naturally taught on and off the field. My Dad watched him play when he was in the Navy as he played for Baltimore. At Lee my dad worked on Coaches car at times and every time I ran into Coach Rogers he would always ask about my dad and tell me that story and say he would never forget him for that. Thats who he was a demanding Coach on the field and a kind hearted man off the field who would always remember the background not just the player but the family as well. Thank you for making me a better man away from football, a better husband, better father, and better a Poppie by the lessons I learned from 35 years ago! I know you and JD are fielding a team up in heaven that when we do meet again I hope to be a part of. My condolences to the entire Rogers family. Thank you for always giving a piece of your Dad to each of us!

I have known Corky Rogers most of my life. He was a family man. He loved his girls more than anything. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him and even the ones that knew of him. I remember the Friday nights at his house after the football games when he coached at Lee. He was well respected by all his players. I had the pleasure of babysitting for him and Linda. Those were fond memories.
Linda, Tracy, and Jennifer, Corky is at peace now. No more pain. May God Bless You and Keep You in Your Time of Sorrow. Go Rest High on that Mountain Corky. Your work on Earth is Done.

Rest In Peace Coach Rogers. My son played football for Coach Rogers. It was his dream since he was a 1st Grader to be a QB on his team. He was like a second father to him like he was for many of his players.
He was not flashy or prone to whimsical fads. Work hard; show respect for your teammates and coaches; and focus on the things you can control. I could not think of a finer person to undertake that role for our son or me as a father. We will always cherish and appreciate all that he did for our son as well as all the players he accepted under his tutelage. He was old school but he represented and epitomized all the best characteristics of that greatest generation.
Our prayers and condolences are also extended to those in his family that survived him as well as our heartfelt thanks for sharing him with so many young men and women. May your memories of him and the recognition of all the lives that he immeasurably improved bring you comfort at this difficult time.

I played sports together with Corky as a young man from city park leagues through junior and senior high school. We were very good friends in those formative years. I can honestly say that I have never met a nicer person and I consider myself blessed to have had him in my life. My heart goes out to his family in this time of sorrow for us all.
