Janelle Parrish Obituary
Janelle Hull Parrish, age 85, passed from this life on September 12, 2018 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida. Janelle was preceded in death by her parents, Nelle and Clarence Hull; her first husband, Dr. William C. Lindsey; and nephew Michael Hull. She is survived by her devoted husband, William Parrish; sister, Clare Huleen; brother, David Hull; children Susan Lawrence, Kathryn White, Rebecca Cooke, and Joseph Lindsey; three sons-in-law;step -daughters Linda Parrish and Jenny Parrish; and three nieces, two nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Janelle was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Landon High School where she was a Marching Lionette. Janelle graduated from Florida State University in 1955. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She retired from teaching in Duval County Schools in 1990.

For many years, Janelle served with HabiJax, helping build dozens of homes. Janelle and her husband participated on Habitat for Humanity projects across the United States and in South Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, Hungary, and Mexico.

Janelle was a charter member of Arlington Presbyterian Church. She attended St. John's Cathedral in Jacksonville and Trinity Episcopal Church after moving to St. Augustine in 2015. She participated in outreach programs for the homeless, knitting warm caps and socks and preparing meals. Janelle was a gifted artist and crafter, generously sharing her gifts with friends, family, and community. Her great joys were summers spent in the North Carolina mountains, live music, curling up with mystery novels, and spending time with family.

A Memorial will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Augustine on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00 am with interment in the Trinity Parish Memorial Garden. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. John's Preservation Fund or to Trinity Episcopal Church. Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park (www.craigfuneralhome.com) is assisting the family.
