Lawrence Stephen "Steve" Helton Obituary
Lawrence Stephen Helton "Steve", age 61, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on November 30th, 2018.
Steve lived a courageous 11 years with heart disease. He made the best of it and lived every day to his best ability. He was a Mechanical Contractor and enjoyed working in the heating and air conditioning business prior to his heart attack. He enjoyed fishing, Florida Gator and Jaguar football, studying history (especially WWII), the Ham radio, watching politics, and Trivia nights. He always did what he could to help anyone who needed it. Steve was a child of God, and we are comforted knowing he was met by our Lord, family, and friends who passed on before him.
Steve loved his daughter Sarah very much. He was very proud to see her graduate from the University of Florida and begin her work as a nurse. He loved his wife Wendy, and they had 30 years of marriage and laughter together. He was a wonderful son to his mother, and he was able to make her last years' better by spending even more time with her. He also was the world's best brother to his sister Jeanne, with whom he maintained a lifelong very close relationship.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Helton and mother, Iree Helton.
Steve has journeyed on ahead leaving his wife, Wendy M. Helton, daughter, Sarah E. Helton, and sister Jeanne E. Helton. He also leaves his Aunt, Jean Mead, Uncle, Hansel Byron Mead, and cousins, Kathy Pifer (Tom), Tracy Runyon (Doug) and Doug Mead (Kaouri), Janie Ledbetter (Dan) and Doug Helton (John). He leaves behind his beloved companion dogs,
