Margaret Jansen Obituary
Margaret M. Jansen, age 78, passed away after a short illness on September 11, 2018 in Boise, ID.
Margaret was born on April 19, 1940 to Royal and Julia (Willie) Quasney in Baltimore, MD. A talented piano player, she was a member of Modern Music Masters in her youth. After graduating Glen Burnie High School in 1958, she worked at Hochschild-Kohn and married John (Joe) Jansen, of New York, NY, in 1962. After the birth of her two sons, Margaret's family relocated to Danielson, CT, where she had two daughters. In 1989, she again relocated, this time to Orange Park, FL, where she and John lived for 25 years before retiring to Boise, ID.
Margaret dedicated herself to giving back to her community and helping others. While in Danielson, she volunteered with the local Democratic Party and the U.S. Census. She volunteered for more than 20 years with the Auxiliary at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL, serving on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Volunteer Office Service and President of the Auxiliary. In the last few years of her life, she was an active volunteer at the Dick Eardley Boise Senior Center in Boise, ID. Margaret indulged her creative side by painting watercolors and working on complicated jigsaw puzzles, often while enjoying her favorite Hallmark movies.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, John; her children, John (Nikki) Jansen, Michael Jansen, Brenda (Sean) Koski and Debbie Jansen (Chris Jackson); her sister, Marilyn Lawson; and her four grandchildren, Dawn, Stephanie, John, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private service will be held. Memorial donations can be made to the Dick Eardley Boise Senior Center at 690 Robbins Road, Boise, ID 83702. Condolences may be offered at www.forevermissed.com.
