THIEN Marvin Arthur Thien was born September 25, 1947, and raised in Dinsmore, Florida. He went to Heaven to meet Jesus on Easter morning. Rejoice as he is in Heaven. Born and raised on the family dairy farm, he chose agriculture as his life s vocation. He was a graduate of the great class of 1965 from Paxon High School. Marvin is survived by his wife Charlotte Wright Thien. They would have celebrated their 46th anniversary in July. He is also survived by daughter Heather Thien Wolfe (Timmy) and granddaughter Megan; son Scott Thien (Amy) and granddaughter Reagan, (and yet to be born granddaughter Josie); son Sean Thien (Amanda) and granddaughter Skylar. He is also survived by a sister, Janice Bowen and her children. He is survived by a host of cousins of the Pendarvis and Thien families. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur Thien and Louise Pendarvis Thien (both born and raised and Dinsmore). Special friends by hunting, 4H, church and school are many. Marvin was active in agricultural organizations, a former long time 4H leader of Dinsmore 4H Club. He was passionate about sharing knowledge of dairy science. He was also an active coach of youth baseball teams. He played adult softball for years at Jones Road Baptist Church and other adult teams. He was currently the men s Sunday School teacher at Surrency Baptist Church. He had relocated his cattle ranch to Surrency, Georgia in 2007, moving from his family life time home on the Dinsmore farm. Many thanks for the prayers offered on Marvin s behalf by the host of old and new friends. In lieu of flowers you may donate to your church or to the Franklin Graham Ministries or Samaritan s Purse or to Operation Christmas Child or to Nassau County Florida 4H.
